The Ensemble I Virtuosi Veneti, composed of musicians who teach in the most prestigious Conservatories of Italy and who are or were the first solo parts of lyric-symphonic orchestras and ensembles and ensembles like I Solisti Veneti, I Solisti Italiani, l’Arte dell’Arco, La Magnifica Comunità and others, was born on the initiative of Alessio Benedettelli.
The musicians who make up this ensemble have had important experiences working with important conductors such as George Prêtre, Kurt Masur, Karl Böhm, Elhiau Inbal, Claudio Abbado, Kiril Kondrascin, Yuri Temirkanov, Yuri Aronovitch, Riccardo Muti and others. The ensemble, given the characteristic and the great level of the soloists that compose it, is able to present itself in its typical formation composed of fifteen or more soloists or even in the formation of a duo, trio, quartet, etc.
This range of different formations allows the whole to face music ranging from the Baroque period to contemporary and living authors. In these years I Virtuosi Veneti have been present in the most important national and international events such as congresses, inauguration of exhibitions, financial institutions, conventions and celebrations of the entertainment world as well as dinners and private parties. Other events include the inauguration of La Vittoriosa, home to the Casinò di Venezia in Malta, Galà for Schroeder International at Palazzo Pisani Moretta, Opening Ceremony of Michigan University, and 2006, the inaugural booklet of the Future of Science Conference organized by Fondazione Veronesi at Palazzo Ducale, and other events.
The fame and the seriousness of this ensemble, beyond the high artistic level, allow, if the client requests it for extraordinary events, the collaboration with famous soloists, winners of international prizes like the Competition of Monaco of Bavaria (ARD), Paganini Prize in Genoa, Kreisler Prize in Vienna, and others.
The possibility of working with these great soloists puts I Virtuosi Veneti in a privileged position, of particular prestige, so much so that the ensemble can be distinguished from all the other ensembles.
