Margriet Buchberger studied singing at the G. Verdi Conservatory in Milan concluding there her studies at the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg and specializing with Cheryl Studer, Krisztina Laki and Editha Gruberova. She won a scholarship made available by the Cubec Foundation for the promotion of young singers in order to participate in a course with Mirella Freni. She won the Bruno Frey award held by the Baden-Württemberg Music Academy. In addition she is “salaried” by the Richard Wagner Association of Bayreuth. She has been a guest of many important institutions such as the concert and symphonic season of the Verona Arena, the Salzburger Mozartwoche, Mittelrhein Musikfestival with Chapel Confluentes, the International Opera Festival Schloss Kirchstetten, Liszt Festival Schloss Schillingsfürst with pianist Leslie Howard, Tage Alter Musik Regensburg and La Theater Fenice of Venice for the Galuppi Festival with Leone Magiera in 2015. Concerts and operas with the Musicians of the Kings Road in Turku and Helsinki, a joint production of the Händel -Festspiele Halle, the Associazione Grupporiani Milano, Municipality of Milan – Culture Convention Theater and Lautten Compagney Berlin, at the Schaffhausen Municipal Theater (Switzerland) and for Staatstheater Wiesbadene Händel-Festspiele Halle and many others.

She sang several world premieres except for a post – modern piece by Andrea Padova, for the international meeting of the Mozart association at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, the opera Hoffnung by Wilfried Hiller for the Bayerischer Rundfunk.

From the 2007 academic year up to 2014 she was a singing teacher at the Catholic University of Eichstatt.


It is a unique opportunity to have a master like Leo Magiera at his disposal performed over a thousand concerts with Luciano Pavarotti, direct important orchestras throughout the world, in addition to five years of close cooperation with Herbert von Karajan at Salzburger Festspiele. Leone Magiera was also the pianist of the Teatro Scala di Milano Orchestra and teacher of some of the greatest singers of the world such as Mirella Freni, Renata Scotto, Cecilia Gasdia, Ruggero Raimondi, Katja Ricciarelli, Raina Kabaivanska, Shirlej Verret, Nicolaj Gedda and others.
