ANGELO MANZOTTI

Angelo Manzotti, a sopranist, is dedicated to the revival of the historical castrati repertoire, developed from the beginning of the seventeenth century with particular reference to production eighteenth century (Händel, Hasse, Vivaldi, Pergolesi, Mozart, etc.) in the field of opera in the field of sacred music, but also pushing itself to contemporary music. Winner in 1992 of the International Competition Luciano Pavarotti of Philadelphia and of the first International Music Tournament (Rome 1992), won the Timbre de Platine of Opéra International with his first recording Arie di Farinelli (1995), whose program has been toured since 1994.

Among the works interpreted: Händel: Rinaldo, Tamerlano – Monteverdi, The coronation of Poppea, Il Ballo degli ingrate, L’Orfeo, Pergolesi: The superb Prigionier, Vivaldi: the Griselda – Baskets: La Dori – Rossini: Aureliano in Palmira – La Licata: The Angel and the Golem Humperdink: Haensel und Gretel etc.
He recorded for the record labels Arion, Bongiovanni, Naxos, Tactus, Dynamic, Callisto Records. He has 28 successful recordings. Since 1997 he is with Piero Nuti protagonist of the show: That delicious horror (Life of Farinelli, emirate singer) of Cappelletto and Barbieri, now replicated in Italy and abroad countless times. He was the protagonist of the contemporary opera L’Angelo and the Golem of F. La Licata, composed expressly for him. For some years, in addition to singing e teaching, he devoted himself to theatrical direction.

He is currently working on the Combat Direction of Tancredi and Clorinda and Ballo delle Ingress always of Monteverdi and to the Julius Caesar of Händel that will debut next October in Mantua.

PIERO NUTI

I was born at the theater at the University of Genoa and immediately Greek tragedy, Cicero and Vittorio Alfieri, I arrive in Turin and put the bases of the Teatro Stabile, then Guido Salvini, Pietro Sharoff, Dario Fo, Franco Enriquez, Gianfranco Debosio, Memé Perlini, Giovanni Testori … Fund with Maurizio Scaparro and Adriana Innocenti (with whom I happily share for 60 years too life) the Teatro Popolare di Roma that I run for 20 years and finally I unite it with Turin Shows of Germana Erba with whom I share the Artistic Direction for years.

I have had many awards in Italy and abroad – the most expensive is the Pirandello Maschere Nude in 1989 for Lazzaro in which no one believed.

I have two major regrets: the company “Carla Gravina-Adriana Innocenti-Giuseppe Pambieri-Piero Nuti “directed by Franco Enriquez and Lele Luzzati and a” Fedra “by RacineUngaretti that with the direction of Testori he would have to make his debut in the Palace of Versailles. Both went upstream for the fluttering of sheets.
